Frances was his second spouse Smokey Robinson, and his first wife became, Claudette Rogers Robinson. William “Smokey” Robinson Jr. is most well-known for his hits such as being with You and Simply to See Her, Really Gonna Miss You One Heartbeat and others. Also, he is famous for having founded and led his own Motown vocal group known as the Miracles. The group was in his leadership between 1955 and 1972. He later decided to concentrate on his duties as vice-president of Motown.

In 1984, Robinson had to father an infant son named Trey because of his affair with an extramarital female. He and Claudette split up after Robinson filed for a legal divorce and separation. They were finally separated in 1986 after the matter was resolved. The couple was married for 27 years, and Robinson experienced numerous occasions of infidelity.
